Wellness Genescreen(TM)

What is it?

A DNA test including multiple low-penetrance mutations for identification of genetic risk factors which, in the absence of appropriate diet and lifestyle intervention, may lead to impaired health and premature aging. It includes clinically useful genes involved in lipid metabolism, folate metabolism, blood clotting, iron metabolism, inflammation (relating to type II diabetes, obesity and hypertension), oxidative stress, detoxification of carcinogens and oestrogen exposure.

The results of the genetic test are combined with clinical indicators and lifestyle factors to identify a combination of risk factors that may lead to disease development or progression, if left untreated. Relevant biochemical determinations are included to assess the likelihood of gene expression and to monitor response to the intervention plan provided. This assessment forms part of a research-based wellness program aimed at improved quality of life.
